Robbers used a gas canister to blow apart a cash machine in east London and make off with its contents.
Police believe three men were involved. They say they used a gas canister to blow the machine open before stealing cash and fleeing on motorbikes.
It comes after multiple cash machines were destroyed in explosions in west London last month.
Detective constable Katie Scott, said: “The method used by these suspects is incredibly dangerous. It is fortunate that no one – including themselves – was injured during this robbery.
“I would appeal to anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious to contact police.”
Officers were called to Ripple Road after reports of an explosion at approximately 3.20am on Monday October 10.
There have been no arrests.
